LeonaLeona Louise (born on the 3rd April in 1986) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and actress. Born and raised in Islington, a part of the London Borough of Islington, she was a student at The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis was a star on the national stage in the X Factor's third series in the year 2006. She also received an PS1 million recording contract with Syco Music. The winner's single, which was a cover Kelly Clarkson's track "A Moment Like This," reached 50,000 downloads in 30 minutes and peaked at the top spot for about four weeks. Clive Davis's label J Records, signed Lewis to a deal for five albums in February 2007. The artist's popularity grew with the announcement of her first album of her own, Spirit (2007), which received a platinum certification of 10x in the UK and was the fourth best-selling album of the 2000s and one of the albums that sold the highest in UK chart history. Based on the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the best-selling debut album of a female artist in the 21st century. The top UK single, Bleeding Love, remained at the top of the charts at. one for seven weeks, and was the best-selling album of 2007, according to the Official Charts Company. It also was the biggest-selling track in the US the same year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award next year. She released Echo in 2009 and also made "I Love You" The film's theme song. Lewis also dropped "Collide" in 2011, in a collaboration along with Swedish DJ Avicii. She also released Hurt The EP in 2011, her debut play that was extended. The release of her third studio album, Glassheart (2012), represented a fresh direction in music for Lewis who draws in dubstep as well as electronic music. Lewis began recording music to her first Christmas album in the course of her Glassheart Tour, which took between mid 2013 and. The following year, her Christmas with Love with Love, featuring her lead single "One more time" it reached the top three spot on the charts in the UK. By releasing this chart entry Lewis was the very first British single female to reach the top 5 with eight singles, surpassing Olivia Newton-John's record set by seven.
